Hearts & Stripes | Nail Art With Blue Rhinestones

Sometimes I have no idea what to title my posts. You'd think I'd be good at it by now; almost 400 posts into my blogging journey. Maybe one day I'll regularly take ideas on my Facebook page - I've done that before and other people are much more creative with words than me!

Alright, so as you can see I have some simple nail art with two hearts and some yellow and blue stripes. I got the blue rhinestones to review from Born Pretty Store and well, they're not my favourite...

I mean, it's not all bad - the pack they came in was huge - there's approximately 5000 pieces in there, and it's cheap, only $8.45 normally and $5.99 right now. But the main attraction to these is the fact that they're meant to glow - and they just don't! It's a pity too, because they look so cool here!

Update: They might be UV-responsive (I can't check because I don't have a UV light), but I'll leave the review like this in case anyone else else is expecting them to glow normally. Bit frustrating because they're in the normal "rhinestone" category, not "UV" on the site!

The nail polish I used:
Jordana Pop Art- Express in Yellow
Jordana Pop Art - Blue Abstract
Jordana - White

So that was kind of lame. I was running from bright light to a dark cupboard for a while trying to make them work! However, they are still quite a cool, unique thing to have in your nail art kit, and I'm glad I have them for that reason. Plus they're a really good deal price-wise if I wanted to buy some more. The stones have a diameter of 2mm and there is also hot pink, green and red to choose from. You can find them here!

If you want to purchase these or any other nail art supplies from Born Pretty Store (most things are much better than these!) you can also use my coupon code, CEL91 for 10% off. BPS has free shipping worldwide and you can safely pay through PayPal or credit card. I buy heaps of stuff from them - in fact I have an awesome package on the way! Two cellphone covers, two rolls of nail foil and a super cute bag. Can't wait!

So that's about it, I guess!
Does anyone else have these? Had any luck making them glow?

  1. Cute mani! Have you tried putting them under a black light? Maybe they are UV responsive, but not actually glow in the dark?

    2. That's so annoying then! I don't casually have a UV lamp laying around :(. Oh well, next time I got somewhere with a UV light I'll try remember to bring them see what happens. It does say "5000pcs/bag 2mm Neon Fluorescent Round Rhinestones Acrylic UV Gel Nail Decoration" in the title. Oops. Kinda.

  2. I know what you mean about coming up with post titles - sometimes it's really hard! Aww it's a shame the rhinestones didn't do what you wanted them to do! The design you've created looks really pretty though! :)
