Literary Lacquers Nail Polish Review - Five Stunning Indies!

When I approached Amy from Literary Lacquers about the possibility of her sponsoring my giveaway, not only did she say a big YES (check out the giveaway and what she contributed here) but also sent me five polishes to review! I chose them myself from her Etsy site - and oh my goodness it was hard to choose! There are so many pretties on there. I finally settled on:

And now I'm going to share them with you! Today I just have swatches of them, but I plan to create some (hopefully awesome) nail art with them in the near future.

First we have Midsummer Night's Dream. This is my favourite out of the lot; I just adore it. It reminds me a lot of van Gogh's Starry Night - the colours are just perfect. In these photos I have two coats of Midsummer Night's Dream on my index and ring fingers, and one coat over black on the middle and pinky nails.

 Here's a picture with the bottle ☺.

Next we have My Secret Garden. I love it, it's definitely an extremely close second fav! As you can see, I tried it over a few different colours to give you an idea of what looks best. Personally I love the way it looks over black. The photo below shows one coat of My Secret Garden.

And here it is again, but with two-three coats.

Next we have a Literary Lacquers polish called Strawberry Ice Cream Soma. For a start, what a delicious name! It's the first day of summer here in New Zealand and we've been treated to many beautiful days in the last month - synonymous in my world to ice cream days. From what I remember, this went on in two coats, and just like the other polishes in this lot, had a great consistency and easy application.

For those that don't know, Literary Lacquers polishes are inspired by books. I'm a self-confessed bookworm, so I think I'm always going to have a special place in my heart/collection for these!

Next up we have Two At The Very Most. This one really caught my eye! As Amy describes it; "black hexes, white squares, gunmetal hexes, silver chrome hexes so shiny that they reflect light like a disco ball, a touch of holographic microglitter and added green circle glitters." Wow.

It looks stunning whether you have just one or several coats!

Lastly, here's Anne With an E. This polish was inspired by Anne of Green Gables and it is gorgeous. It's a brilliant glitter top coat that looks amazing over just about every colour, but I particularly love it over black.

Here you can see it with just one coat, then two.

What do you think of these polishes? I honestly am blown away by them. I usually stay away from glitters because they tend to distract from nail art, but I have a feeling these will be only complimentary, particularly My Secret Garden, Two At The Very Most and Midsummer Night's Dream.

Don't forget that you can win her new collection in my current giveaway - closes on new years day 2014!
